About:
Mission
TALC New Vision is committed to a new vision of public education based on a diversity of personalized learning environments, a diversity of school governance structures, and the ability of all families, regardless of their economic status, to choose options they think will be best for their children.
TALC New Vision’s work to support the creation of new small high schools is premised on an expanded vision of public education that redefines what “public” means. All our children are part of the public and therefore all our children deserve:
- high quality learning environments of their choice
- adequate and equitable funding for their education
- learning environments that are accountable for results
TALC New Vision advocates for education policy supportive of this new vision, provides technical assistance to teams planning and implementing new small high schools within the “New Vision of Secondary Education in Milwaukee,” a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and documents and communicates these efforts to maximize the impact of small school strategies, diversity, and choice for improving education.
