Alliance for Choices in Education (ACE)
ACE is a nonprofit membership organization of schools, parents, and employers, formed to improve academic results by expanding and protecting educational options for Milwaukee parents. Chaired by Dr. Howard Fuller, ACE is guided by leaders from partnership schools serving at-risk students through contracts with MPS; charter schools authorized by University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the City of Milwaukee, and MPS; and private schools receiving public funding through the Milwaukee Parental Choice Program (MPCP). ACE also enjoys the support of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC).
ACE’s participation in the New Vision of Secondary Education guarantees that all of the entities engaged in public education in Milwaukee are collaborating to achieve high school reform.
ACE advocates for Milwaukee’s educational options on a sustained basis, as opponents have sought to dismantle these programs or to regulate them in ways that would discourage schools from participating.
ACE’s activities include:
- keeping schools and other members informed of legislative developments and changes in rules affecting educational options;
- advocating on behalf of the educational options;
- and providing technical information to its members to help them comply with laws and rules.
