Small School Collaborative

In 2004, a teacher at a New Vision small high school founded a coalition of teacher-led small school schools in Milwaukee. The mission of this organization was to provide social support, creative solutions, and facilitate better relations with central services for teacher-led small schools. This coalition brought together fellow teacher leaders to generate solutions to common problems, share resources, and collaborate on program and operations unique to teacher-led small schools.

This past year, small school leaders decided to expand this networking mechanism to all small high schools seeking collaboration from fellow small school leaders and hosted an initial meeting of the Small School Collaborative. The collaborative has now posted interactive website, which anyone can contribute to. TALC New Vision has hosted an annual grantee social event the past two years, the most recent at Discovery World Museum, to facilitate networking among school developers.
