For more than thirty years, TransCenter has helped Milwaukee’s at-risk youth become productive adults and responsible community members. In addition to TALC New Vision, TransCenter operates:
Shalom High School (Established 1973)
Northwest Opportunities Vocational Academy (Est. 1993)
El Puente High School for Science, Math, and Technology (Est. 1997)
The CITIES Project High School (Established 2004)
TransCenter’s educational program has been called “one of the most successful models of its kind in the nation” by the Center for Urban Community Development at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. TransCenter’s schools have been visited and studied by educators from Russia, Japan, Germany, Great Britain, South Africa and from all over the United States. They have been featured in articles and books published by the National Center on Education and the Economy, Jobs for the Future, the Academy for Educational Development, the National Network for Youth, the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, the Carnegie Reporter, and Holistic Education Press.

Dr. Daniel Grego
Providing national and international leadership
for education reform
Dr. Daniel Grego has directed TransCenter’s educational programs since 1981; he became the agency’s Executive Director in July 2002. Grego was a founding member of Milwaukee’s Alliance for Choices in Education (ACE). Representing TransCenter, Grego has been a consultant for the:
